This presentation will describe etiologies that may be mistaken for pressure damage, including chronic tissue injury (CTI), Kennedy Terminal Ulcer (KTU)/skin failure, moisture-associated skin damage (MASD), deep tissue pressure injury (DTPI), COVID Skin manifestations and others. Pigmented lesions of the Lower Extremity Pigmented lesions present a diverse and challenging group of pathologic disorders. This presentation will focus on determining what to biopsy and when. Keratosis and Carcinomas Keratoses are the growth of cornified cells on skin or on mucous membranes stemming from the early neoplastic transformation of squamous and basaloid keratinocytes. During this session, Dr. McClain will discuss the causes, complications, and treatment of keratoses. He will also discuss the relationship between keratoses and carcinomas as seen through biopsy and proper diagnosis.
