Providing Footwear and Other Pedorthic Modalities for the Senior Population
Event Date:
April 9, 2021 • 1:00–4:30 PM
This mini-symposium will be presented in three sections. First, Dennis Janisse will discuss the research that has been done in the arena of diabetic shoes and efficacy. While we know these modalities work, it is helpful to understand how and why. Next, Brian Lane will provide a peek behind the curtain of shoe design and manufacture to explain shoe sizing and why it is as complex as it is. The complexities of shoe sizing often baffle newbie and veteran pedorthists alike. Finally, Erick Janisse will provide insight into how the aging process affects your patients’ abilities to properly use – and benefit from – the pedorthic modalities that you provide to them.
